When you purchase a can of vanilla, mocha, cold brew, or caramel iced coffee from Richmond Coffee Co. you are choosing to support your community in some remarkable ways.

Richmond has such a robust coffee culture. What sets Richmond Coffee Co. apart is their intentional hyper local focus.  Their coffee is in Richmond and for Richmond.  The team believes, “Great communities are connected by great coffee.”

They put this belief into action through services like their coffee breaks. Upon being nominated (on their website), staff bring their smooth, balanced line-up of iced coffees to thank people who often go unrecognized, like teachers and volunteers.

Lexi Firestone is the welcoming spirited team member you see at the coffee break events. Last year she provided this celebratory service to 27 different schools (and is on track for even more this year). A middle school Principal had her stay the whole school day to bring coffee to each grade level meeting.  During teacher appreciation week she provided school supplies needed to get through the end of the school year.

What else makes Richmond Coffee Co. unique? They are committed to developing collaborative relationships with local nonprofits that have a positive impact on the Richmond community. You’ve probably seen them at local events that benefit animal rescue and families impacted by down syndrome.

Lexi remarked upon her role at these events, “It’s a way to build community and network with organizations with similar missions. I also feel like I am spreading joy.”  The positive relationships she’s formed with local service providers results in collaborative good for the community!

More Than A Coffee Brand

While Richmond Coffee Co provides consistently great 100% Arabica iced coffees to fuel your day, it’s clear they are pursuing a larger mission of serving the underserved in Richmond. It’s what drew them to critical nonprofits like the Faison Center, Autism Society of Central Virginia and Commonwealth Autism (CA).  Playing an active role in serving the needs of individuals and families impacted by autism is of personal significance to the staff.

The team was inspired by the unique partnership between CA and Good Foods Grocery and wanted to support their work to help young adults with autism secure meaningful employment, as well as greater inclusion and improved quality of life.

Lexi has included graduates from CA’s Career Readiness & Employment program in her community outreach activities.  CA and GFG are grateful Richmond Coffee Co. is serving as the Title Sponsor for the October 17 Harvest for All Festival and additional collaboration opportunities are in the works.

Richmond Coffee Co is always looking to establish new partnerships like their current search for projects with local artists, musicians, and craftspeople to celebrate the Richmond community.  They are hopeful to see other local brands pursue collaborations that further the missions of critical local nonprofits to ultimately help the Richmond community thrive!
