Donnie Caffery
Owner
I have the pollen of Virginia to thank for getting me interested in healthy food. Having grown up in New Orleans, coming to Virginia to go to college was like stepping into a world of sneezing and itchy eyes. Of course, it took a while to eat better and improve, but our entire lives are part of a wellness journey. I am a behind the scenes kind of owner. I keep systems running, love databases, and work closely with a wonderful group of talented people I call Team GFG. I do work long hours and I could not do that without the support of my wife and better half, Angie. She is a full-time artist. We live in a log house, love yard work and going hiking. You can find me on the tennis court too. It is an honor to run Good Foods Grocery, employ such dedicated people, and to serve so many delightful customers.

Tracey Cochran
Store Manager
tracey@goodfoodsgrocery.com
I have been working at GFG since 1996, where I’ve held several different positions within the company. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity grow as an employee while raising my two children into fine young adults. There is never a dull moment managing my little store in caring for our customers and staff. I’ve often said we are so much more than retail because our hearts are in what we do. When I’m not at work, I enjoy being in my kitchen cooking for my family and for fun, looking for bargains.

I enjoy the opportunity to work for a business such as this, that sets such a high quality of standards in customer service, product quality and selection. There’s also an amazing staff to help our guests meet their nutritional needs. When I’m not working, I’m enjoying my life in Richmond. It’s truly a great place to live.

I have established close relationships with many farmers and have developed the ability to offer a large selection of local produce as well. GFG is my second family and I am blessed to be working for such a great company. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, amusement parks, the beach, spending time with my wife and 2 daughters and spoiling my first granddaughter!

Fall of 2020 will be my seventh year anniversary with Good Foods Grocery. It has been my great pleasure getting to know this community, while we navigate a path to better health together. I love spending time with my two awesome kids, my cat, and camping (with the children, not the cat). If we’ve met there is a good chance I’ve told you how much I love ashwaganda in general, and StressCare by Himalaya specifically. If we have not met, I am truly looking forward to getting to know you.

My wife Terry and I have worked for Good Foods Grocery since 1989. I enjoy getting to be part of a team of people who are committed to making a locally owned natural foods store work for our community. It has been a privilege to serve in numerous capacities over the years and I hope to stick around at it a while longer. I am also a vintage car and auto racing enthusiast and enjoy chilling out, listening to all kinds of music- especially guys like Dylan and The Band. I wish good health, peace and happiness to all our customers. -Julio aka “The Freezer Geezer”

I’ve been at GFG since 1989, along with my husband, Julio, and consider it a great blessing in so many ways. Donnie has been a friend as well as an employer and the staff is like family. Our fabulous customers have become friends as well, and I love getting to know them and help them. When I’m not ringing folks up or stocking shelves, I love playing my guitar, reading the Bible, mystery or historical fiction novels, watching stuff on TV with Julio, or laughing at our “fluffy” (read–fat) kitty!

I’ve worked at Good Foods for 5 years now, but my association goes back further, to when I managed our natural foods cooperative and had a grocery store over Northside. Years later, when I started gardening in earnest, Good Foods bought the first Epic Gardens Community Cooperative produce.
I love working here because so many people I know are shoppers, and my coworkers are interesting, dedicated and industrious. Some days I go home feeling like I’ve been at a great social gathering. It’s just about the best store ever.

I’ve had the privilege of working for GFG since 2013. It’s been a huge blessing in my life. I really enjoy my job and the people I work with and for, and enjoy participating in providing good food and products to the people of our community. I have a 19-year old daughter who attends VMI and am married to a wonderful man whose family has been shopping at Good Foods since we opened in 1985. In fact, I met my husband in the checkout line at Good Foods Grocery! This place is way more than a job to me, it’s like home with extended family.
